Distracted Driving Takes Their Eyes and Hand Off the Road
When you sneeze, your eyes close for approximately 0.5 seconds, and if you’re traveling at 60 mph, this means yore essentially driving blind for more than 44 feet. In those moments, anything can happen an unforeseen swerve, a sudden stop from the car ahead, or an unexpected obstacle in the lane.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, there are three principal types of distractions: visual, manual and cognitive. All of these elements take a drivers attention away from the roadway, oftentimes resulting in serious or even fatal crashes. While most distractions may only include one or two of these elements, there is one that involves all three and that is the sneeze.

Allergies impair your driving ability, similar to having a blood alcohol level of 0.05%. This means that allergic reactions can lead to traffic accidents, just like drunk driving. On the one hand, drunk driving is a voluntary choice of the vehicle driver. However, drivers suffering from allergy symptoms can easily succumb to difficulty concentrating due to sneezing, blurred vision, and headaches caused by unclean air entering the cabin. This is a physiological response to allergic triggers and cannot be controlled by our will.
